A Famine Feast of bread and water was the kick-off event on Sunday, January 29, for Living Hope's evangelism outreach for 2006. Together we celebrated the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, who became our Bread of Life and Living Water. Following the "feast", church family members of all ages worked together to knot and bead over 700 leather laces. The beaded laces will later be used to make Gospel Walking Sticks to be given away during our Wisconsin Farm Technology Days outreach. Members of Living Hope Bible Church plan to work with the Fellowship of Christian Farmers when this event is held in the Gibbsville area July 11-13.
Many hands (of all ages) make light work!
The Good News shown in colored beads On Sunday, March 26, friends from Calvary of Sheboygan joined the Living Hope Bible Church family for an old-fashioned soup supper, and we worked together to assemble over 700 more laced beads for the Fellowship of Christian Farmers and the Farm Technology Days outreach.
Families work together in our on-going project to drill holes and sand the walking sticks before inserting the beaded laces.
Living Hope families began assembling the walking sticks on Sunday, May 7. Over 700 sticks were completed and bundled for use at Wisconsin Farm Technology Days.
Our most recent work day on Sunday, May 21, saw the completion of nearly 1300 Gospel Walking Sticks!
Wisconsin Farm Technology Days 2006 is now history....But the story goes on all the way to eternity! Approximately 1000 gospel walking sticks were given away, and each recipient heard the wonderful story of God's love for them shown in the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Men, women and children chose Jesus during the 3-day event as they were confronted with their need for salvation. The remaining walking sticks will now travel with the Fellowship of Christian Farmers out to North Dakota for a farm show there, as they continue to point the way to Heaven. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father, but by Me." WALKING STICK SIDE NOTE.... Check out page 5, Vol. 4-2006 of "The Profit" magazine put out by The Fellowship of Christian Farmers. Bibles donated by Living Hope were given away at the National FFA Convention/Career Show in Indianapolis in October, 2006. During the 2 1/2 day show, over 6,000 FFA members heard the gospel, and many prayed to receive Christ as Savior. Many of these young people are also planning for Christmas and spring break disaster relief projects in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
