Church History and Leadership

Living Hope Bible Church has its roots in two Wisconsin lakeshore area Bible churches.

In January, 1977, Open Door Bible Church was established in Port Washington, meeting in rented quarters at the Masonic Temple. The church continued to meet there until 1986, when a former liquor store was purchased and renovated to meet the needs of the growing congregation. The following year, Open Door Bible Church decided to plant a new church in Adell.

Grace Bible Church of Adell began worshipping in the former Adell grade school in April, 1987.  They rented one classroom there for the first year and were then able to rent the gymnasium for their services.  In November, 1994, they purchased the building from the Village of Adell.

In June, 2000, Living Hope Bible Church was organized as a new congregation by fourteen families from Grace Bible Church.  They began meeting at the Oostburg State Bank in August of that year.  On July 1, 2001, they re-located to the former St. George parochial school at 6 Corners, 2.5 miles north of Oostburg, and 3 miles south of Sheboygan, where they are currently meeting.

Living Hope Bible Church is an Elder-led body of believers with Sunday Worship Services and mid-week Home Bible Studies.  Current Elders include Elwood Wynveen, Steve Grimins, and Harold Kislewski.
